About
Creative Caminito CIC was founded in June 2022 by Caroline Pearsall, who invited John Turville to be a fellow director.
After 20 years of playing tango music professionally in France, Argentina and the UK, and after being invited to spend 2.5 months with the Orquesta Escuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce in Buenos Aires, she dreamed of having a similar project in the UK so she could share her love of tango music and help grow a real community of tango musicians, like she experienced in Paris and Buenos Aires.
Caroline has studied and played Argentine tango with numerous amazing musicians. Here is a list of some of them to give you an idea of her tango background and teaching which she wishes to share and transmit with Creative Caminito. These musicians are mostly based in Paris (France) and/or Buenos Aires (Argentina): Juan Jose Mosalini, Gustavo Beytelmann, Victor Hugo Villena, William Sabatier, Amelitar Baltar, Osvaldo Calo, La Chicana, Daniel Melingo, Fleurs Noires, Silbando Orchestre, Orquesta Imperial, Ramiro Gallo, Leonardo Ferreyra, Juan Pablo Navarro, Diego Schissi, Guillermo Rubino, Tomas Gubitsch, Ignacio Varchausky, Debora Russ, Alejandro Schwarz, Jean-Baptiste Henry, Diego Aubia, Sandra Rumolino, Orquesta Escuela Emilio Balcarce, Eduardo Garcia, Mauricio Marcelli, José Colangelo, Alfonso Pacin, Gilberto Pereyra, Romain Lecuyer, Juanjo Mosalini, Hernan Possetti, Pablo Aslan, Leonardo Suarez Paz...
John has also studied and worked with several important tango musicians and these include Hernan Possetti, Diego Schissi, Eduardo Garcia, and the cellist Eduardo Vassallo who is based in the UK.
Mission Statement (short)
Building inclusive new tango music education & performance communities through innovative projects throughout the UK, developing musicianship, creativity, community, and intercultural understanding. We aim to enrich cultural opportunities in the UK, and develop multiple collaborations between different cultures.
(Long)
Creative Caminito's mission is to spread knowledge, awareness, and enjoyment of the music of Latin America, especially from Argentina. The goals are to educate and inform people through music education projects and musical performances, to improve musicianship and cultural diversity, leading to a richer musical culture in the UK and improved intercultural understanding. We believe in finding innovative ways to teach and share music throughout the UK. We also support giving voice and recognition to marginalised cultures and populations within the UK. We aim to be in constant collaboration with our communities, and demonstrate integrity and honesty in our work.
