Hola! Welcome!

At Creative Caminito CIC we are building new and inclusive tango music education & performance communities with innovative projects throughout the UK, developing musicianship, creativity, community, and intercultural understanding. We aim to enrich cultural opportunities in the UK, and develop multiple collaborations between different cultures.

The UK has never had a thriving tango music scene and the opportunities for musicians to perform at live milongas has been far and few between. In order to break the cycle of a lack of opportunities but also a lack of musicians who can play the genre, Creative Caminito was born!

We are currently running 4 orchestras in London, Bristol, the New Forest and Leeds with more in the pipeline (Manchester & Glasgow...) These orchestras create partnerships with local tango dance schools and perform at their tango events. The number of events we are involved in grows every year and we are aiming to have orchestras throughout the country creating opportunities for everyone who is involved.

Volunteering & Internships

 We are currently looking for volunteers and student interns to help us grow and develop.
If you would be interested in either of these unpaid positions please get in touch.
As we grow we will be applying for funding to be able to start to offer some paid student internships from 2027.

Music like you've never played before!

We believe more cultural inclusion and understanding of Latin American cultures is needed in the UK and we aim to move away from the typical clichés into the deeper and broader viewpoints of the beauty and creativity inherent in them. We also aim to promote more equality in representation between the genders. We hope to increase our audiences awareness and knowledge of the fascinating music, poetry and dance that have been born out of the potent mix of European and Indigenous cultures, immigration, colonialism and diaspora. We will explore the power of human creativity to imagine new identities and cultures which have much to teach us today in a fragmented and increasingly divisive world.
Our current main projects are the London Tango Orchestra, a professional group, and the 3 Community Tango Orchestras for amateurs, students and semi-pro musicians who wish to learn how to play the style, and perform at tango dances.
